Listing and Exchange Agreement

The fine print:

  1. Bitterroot Barter hOURs is a volunteer project that simply provides an information service through which participants can exchange goods and services, and maintains a central record of participants.
  2. Key information is available to all participants. Participants agree to Bitterroot Barter hOURs project organizers holding their details on file and distributing to other participants those details relevant to the purpose of ex-change. Participants also agree to the directory of goods and services being distributed to the general public for publicity purposes.
  3. No warranty as to the value, condition or quality of services or items exchanged is expressed or implied by virtue of the introduction of participants to each other. Bitterroot Barter hOURs publishes a list of the resources and services made available to participants but cannot be held responsible for the actual goods and services offered.
  4. No participant is obliged to accept any particularly invitation to trade, barter, or to engage in any transaction whatsoever with other participants. Participants may engage in any transaction entirely in hOURs, or on a part cash, trade, barter, part hOUR basis, but only hOURs will ever potentially be recorded by the Bitterroot Barter hOUR project.
  5. Bitterroot Barter hOURs Directory organizers may decline to record a directory entry considered inappropriate for legal or other reasons.
  6. Participants may give or receive from each other barter or credit in the accepted units of Bitterroot Barter hOURs. One unit, or hOUR, represents the value of $10.
  7. In the event that Bitterroot Barter hOURs organizers decide to track or record hOURs circulation, the management group may from time to time publicize circulation and general project information for public view.
  8. Participants are encouraged to attend any meeting of the project group and to participate!
  9. The hOURs management group may remove participants from subsequent directories in the case of repeatedly reported unresolved transactions. The group also reserves the right to deny participation to an applicant in very exceptional circumstances at their discretion.
  10. On leaving the Bitterroot Barter, participants with commitments outstanding are obliged to honor their transactions.
  11. Participation in Bitterroot Barter hOURs Directory implies acceptance of this agreement.
  12. This agreement may be updated or modified at the discretion of the hOURs managers.
